Complete Boat Enclosure Care: Cleaner, Polish & Scratch Remover Kit
The Kit
The EZ2CY Plastic Cleaner and Polish Combo gives you everything you need for year-round enclosure maintenance in one package. You get a 7 oz bottle of premium cleaner and polish plus an 8 oz bottle of scratch remover. This combo handles regular cleaning, protective maintenance, and deeper scratch removal in a single system.
It's built for the reality of boat ownership: cleaner for weekly or monthly care, scratch remover for seasonal restoration when cloudiness or minor blemishes appear. One kit covers both jobs without buying products separately.
Plastic Cleaner & Polish (7 oz)
What It Does The cleaner and polish remove dirt, salt spray residue, and UV buildup while leaving a lustrous, protective finish. Unlike basic soap and water, this formula includes anti-static properties that repel dust and dirt between cleanings, anti-fog agents that prevent haze from forming, and water-repellent technology that helps rain and salt spray bead off rather than coat the plastic.
This protective layer makes future cleanings easier because dirt doesn't stick as aggressively. Many boat owners notice they can go longer between cleaning sessions because the water-repellent finish sheds contaminants more effectively.
Designed For
- Rigid bonded acrylic enclosures (EZ2CY patented design)
- Soft isinglass and eisenglass panels
- Clear vinyl enclosures and bimini tops
- Lexan, Lucite, and polycarbonate windows
- Plexiglass portholes and hatches
- Plastic enclosure tracks and frames
- Eyeglasses and instrument covers
- Chrome and metal trim
How It Works Apply a small amount to a damp cloth or soft sponge and wipe in circular motions. The formula cuts through salt spray, bug residue, and environmental buildup. You'll see clarity return immediately. The water-repellent finish takes shape as it dries, creating that lustrous shine and protective coating.
Unlike harsh silicone sprays or wax products that build up over time, this formula is designed to refresh without accumulation, so you won't get a cloudy or streaky appearance with repeated use.
Scratch Remover (8 oz)
What It Does The scratch remover targets surface scratches, oxidation-induced cloudiness, and minor blemishes that regular cleaning can't fix. It's a mild abrasive formula, not an aggressive scouring compound. This means it removes damage without creating new scratches or weakening the plastic.
The formula includes the same anti-static and anti-fog properties as the cleaner, so when you finish scratch removal, your enclosure not only looks clearer but also has renewed protection against future dirt and moisture.
Designed For
- Deep cleaning of heavily oxidized surfaces
- Removing fine scratches from acrylic and isinglass
- Restoring clarity to dull or hazy enclosure panels
- Seasonal maintenance on high-exposure areas (like flybridge enclosures that face constant sun)
- Spot treatment of blemishes without full panel replacement
How It Works Apply to a damp cloth and work in gentle circular motions over scratched or dull areas. The mild abrasive action removes the damaged outer layer, revealing the clearer plastic beneath. Wipe clean with fresh water and a soft cloth.
The water-soluble formula means no residue buildup, and excess wipes away easily. For deeper scratches, make 2-3 passes rather than aggressive single passes.
Why This Combo Works
Most boat owners either over-clean (using everything from Windex to automotive polishes, which damage plastics) or under-maintain (letting cloudiness build because they don't have the right tools). This combo gives you the right tool for each job.
The cleaner is for regular care, keeping your enclosures clear and protected without harsh chemicals. The scratch remover is for restoring clarity when you notice dullness or light scratches. Together, they extend enclosure life and keep them looking new longer.
If you're using Windex, Rain-X, acetone, or other household cleaners on your acrylic or isinglass, these products can actually be damaging your enclosures over time, causing brittleness and permanent cloudiness. This kit is formulated specifically for marine plastics and includes anti-static and anti-fog properties that generic cleaners don't have.
What's in the Box
- 7 oz bottle of EZ2CY Plastic Cleaner & Polish
- 8 oz bottle of EZ2CY Plastic Scratch Remover
- Easy-squeeze applicator bottles for controlled application
Enclosure Types This Protects
Rigid Acrylic Enclosures Bonded acrylic is EZ2CY's specialty. This kit is engineered to protect the clarity and integrity of rigid acrylic across all vessel categories: center consoles, sportfishing boats, flybridge enclosures, aft deck installations, and yachts.
Soft Isinglass & Eisenglass Enclosures Isinglass requires gentler care than acrylic and needs products that won't cause yellowing or brittleness. This combo is formulated specifically for soft plastic enclosures.
Vinyl & Mixed Material Enclosures Many boats have multiple enclosure types: acrylic main panels with vinyl bimini tops, or mixed isinglass and acrylic. This combo works on all of them without cross-contamination concerns.
Maintenance Schedule
Weekly/Monthly (Use the Cleaner & Polish) If your boat is in heavy use or you're in a high-salt environment, use the cleaner every 2-4 weeks. If you trailer your boat or keep it in protected storage, every 1-2 months is fine. The formula makes regular cleaning quick and easy.
Seasonal (Use the Scratch Remover) Once or twice per year, depending on UV exposure and weather, use the scratch remover on any areas showing dullness or light scratches. Most boaters do this in spring (after winter storage) and fall (after heavy summer use).
After Heavy Weather If you've been in salty conditions, stormy weather, or extended sun exposure, the scratch remover can restore clarity quickly.
Application Tips
For the Cleaner & Polish
- Use on damp surfaces for best results
- Work in small sections to see the water-repellent finish form
- Buff lightly with a soft cloth to enhance the shine
- Works best when applied to cool panels (apply in morning or evening, not in direct sun)
For the Scratch Remover
- Always test on an inconspicuous area first
- Keep the surface damp while working to prevent heat buildup
- Use gentle to moderate pressure; scrubbing harder doesn't help
- Make multiple light passes rather than one aggressive pass
- Wipe clean with fresh water immediately after
What Not to Use
Never apply Windex, Rain-X, acetone, alcohol-based cleaners, or automotive waxes to acrylic or isinglass. These products can cause:
- Permanent cloudiness
- Brittleness and stress cracking (especially in polycarbonate)
- Yellowing and discoloration
- Weakening of the plastic over time
If you've already used these products, the scratch remover in this kit can help restore some clarity, but damage from harsh chemicals may be permanent.
Storage & Shelf Life
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Both bottles have secure caps to prevent evaporation. The formula is stable and maintains effectiveness for at least 2-3 years if stored properly.
