A Customer's Story

I just returned with my boat this Saturday morning from my second round trip to the Caribbean. The pilothouse enclosure you constructed for me back in the summer of 2003 continues to be fantastic. Everyone that sailed with me cannot believe how incredibly comfortable it was and especially since offshore passage-making can be a challenge.

We talk of the purist mentality (and sure their is a place for that kind of boating) but for pure comfort for myself, crew, and passengers, whether it has been spring or fall anywhere up and down the Eastern Seaboard with (nights dropping sometimes into the 40 degree range), summer squalls that come through, or evenings when we sit in a harbor in Maine, it always makes us feel much warmer - tee shirts and shorts-comfortable. We go by other cruisers all the time hunkered down miserable in their Fowlies and here we are sitting up in the rear Captain seats in shorts and tee shirts comfortably reading a book while underway. Even during the last two winters in the Caribbean, we use the side curtains when in squally weather and were equally comfortable.

We have now several times been through several Gales (wind ranges in the high 40's and low 50's) and despite what some might have said, the EZ2CY
® dodger and curtains you constructed have stood up to waves over the bow, huge splashes on the dodger, and wave splashes to the side curtains (which we adjust constantly to control pilot house temperature).

Great Job Well Done.

Sincerely
Jeff Chabot
